From Pronghorns to Big….


Horns.  These were also taken along I-70 but in Colorado – near the turnoff for Aspen at Glenwood Springs.  We have seen this particular herd of Big Horn Sheep for the last 3 years in the exact same place – right by the side of the highway and at the bottom of the canyon wall.  It is actually a tough place to photograph them with 18 wheelers whistling by your back as you try to focus – there is not really a place to get far off the road.  Pretty much all of this group have tags on and the majority of them have radio collars on.  If you look closely at this photo (click on it), you can see this ram is sporting “no. 260” earings as he leads his pack….
