Fiji – Land of Rainbows

Thought I’d take a quick break from the underwater shots to show a little more of the character of the Fijian islands.  As already mentioned in some of my earlier posts, we were there during the rainy season.  During our first 10 days there we had pretty good weather with only isolated rain showers – mostly in the afternoons.  This pattern yielded numerous rainbows to enjoy in our  surface intervals out of the water.  This first photo is looking out from the Paradise Resort toward the Vuna reef where we did many of our dives.

Rainbow over the Reef

This shot shows a multiple rainbow over the main lodge at paradise.  This building held the main dining facility, the bar, and the resort offices.  Our individual Fijian style cabins (Bures) looked identical to this building but on a smaller scale.

    • Thanks Colline – we don’t see many here in San Diego so I am always on the lookout when I travel.

  4. Gorgeous shots of rainbows. I love them, specially the first one, as blue tones seem to attract more my eyes than tan.
