Sharing moments in time…

Old Faithful

Yesterday an eclipse, today an American icon.  I waited pretty much the full 88 minutes between eruptions but it was worth it.  I had been to Yellowstone once before (about 15 years ago) but had never seen it “go”.  Pretty spectacular.

As advertised

    • Madhu – Its a pretty impressive sight and amazing that it is predictable at eruptions every 88 minutes!

  3. I absolutely love the whole Yellowstone experience and I’m yearning to go back for my third visit. Old Faithful is great, but make sure to see the other parts of the park too.

    • Mostraum,
Yellowstone was great – I spent most of my time in the Northeast corner (more animals) but saw pretty much the entire park – a great trip!

  5. Another postcard picture! On my bucket list. I guess if it’s been doing it since 1870 (and long before, I’m sure) (I looked it up), it probably won’t stop before I get there. 🙂

    • Cathy – not sure what is more likely – old faithful stopping or the entire park turning into a massive volcano…..I highly recommend a trip up there.

  6. A friend and I are talking about going to Yellowstone on vacation next year. I’d love to see Old Faithful. Do you know how high the water spout goes?

    • Jackie,
It actually varies a little but my guess is that it is normally well over 100 ft high. Yellowstone is a magical place – lots to see! If you go, plan on spending a few days in the area – it is well worth it. I’ll post many more photos from there over the next week or so….
