Sharing moments in time…

Rio Grande Gorge

While in New Mexico we spent a few nights in the Taos area in the Northern part of the state.  One of the interesting and pretty places there is the Rio Grande Gorge – about 10 or 15 miles outside of town.  The river (rio) cuts a deep gorge into the otherwise flat area and makes for spectacular views.  This was taken off the Rio Grande Gorge bridge which looks down about 800 feet to the river below.  Its a neat place to capture reflections of the sky in the water far below.

A long way down

Here’s another view (from a different evening) showing the bridge itself from the rim trail that follows the gorge.

Blues skies and clouds over the gorge

    • Siggi – we absolutely love NM (and lived there for 10 years). It still amazes me every time I return.

    • Thanks Cheryl – it is really a dramatic sight. As you come up out of the valley (on the road from santa fe) it really looks like someone just took a huge knife and cut a gash in the countryside.
