Sharing moments in time…

Jaguar cub

I can never resist young animals and this Jaguar young’n is no exception.  This guy was born, along with his sister, about 6 months ago.  I took this photo at the San Diego Zoo the other night as they were playing tag in the trees.  I lucked out to catch this expression on his face.  Happy Monday!

  1. He’s so adorable! The expression on is face is just precious 🙂 You captured a beautiful photo, Scott – even the lighting is just right! Thanks for sharing and giving me a good dose of ‘cuteness’ 🙂

p.s. Are all these photos with the Nikon d7000 you mention in your about page? I’ve been looking to get a dslr (my first!) and I’ve heard great things about the d7000, but I don’t know if it’s too advanced for me… Any thoughts or suggestions are very welcome!

    • Dounia,
Thanks for your comment – the cubs are incredibly photogenic. The vast majority of my photos are taken with the D7000 and I think it is a great all around camera. It was my first DSLR in about 30 years and I had alot to learn (still do). I bought an e- book on Amazon called “Nikon D7000 – from snapshots to great shots” which went over the key features of the camera but, more importantly, went over how to apply them to taking good photos. It really helped jump-start my learning curve. Hope that helps.

      • Thanks so much for your thoughts and advice on the D7000. I really appreciate it and it’s definitely helpful.

      • My pleasure Dounia. I should also mention that I use a Nikon D5100 as my backup camera for long trips. It is also a very capable camera (for less $)- I just find the controls on the D7000 more to my liking.

      • That’s actually really helpful to know, because I was looking at both of those while doing my research and they both seemed like very good cameras. Thanks again for all your help! 🙂

    • Thanks Steve – glad you looked in. The two cubs are amazing – they are always either asleep or chasing each other around – fun.
