Weekly Photo Challenge: Geometry

For your perusal – two examples of geometry.  The first is a very conventional geometric view inside of a cathedral in Barcelona, Spain.  The photo shows the symmetry of the columns and the arches as well as the other ornaments common in Gothic architecture.

Not so Golden Arches

The second example is much more unusual for this subject, but I think appropriate for the challenge.  This cat, which we found in the beautiful town of Portofino, Italy , displayed the simplest example of geometry – a straight line.  The markings on its face featured a perfectly straight line down running from top to bottom – symmetrically dividing its face.  I can’t remember ever seeing another cat with that kind of perfect markings……

straight line – and looking fine

  1. Straight line, the simplest example of geometry, and here I’ve been knocking myself out bending those straight lines! The cathedral is ‘golden’, Scott, the cat with the symmetrical markings, a priceless capture. Well done.
