Sharing moments in time…

Africa – Lilac Breasted Roller

I always seem to forget to post pictures of some of the incredibly colorful birds that we encounter during our trips.  I thought I’d post this photo of a bird that seems to be common throughout Africa but is amazingly beautiful.  They are even more beautiful when they fly but I did not manage to get a good flying photo 😦  Hope you enjoy.

  2. Beautiful! I looked up some flying pictures on google and you’re right, that’s a beautiful sight. How good for you that you got to see so much interesting wildlife, and how good for us that you share it here.

    • Kris – Glad you looked it up – they are magnificent in flight. Every time I saw one in the air, it was too far away, and every time we saw one sitting they either just waited us out or outmaneuvered me as they took off – got some really nice colorful blurs and/or some great feet shots.
