Osprey Catches Fish
I took these photos a couple of weeks ago at Lake Murray – a small community park near San Diego. I had gotten a couple of nice perched shots on the top of a telephone pole and was almost ready to leave when the Osprey suddenly dove for the water. I was able to get the camera up and take a complete sequence of the Osprey getting its prey. I have only attached two photos but you’ll get the idea.
Catch!!
The whole thing only took a second or two and it was amazing to watch. The second photo is equally as amazing as the Osprey carried away a fish almost as large as he was. A gull later tried to take the fish away from the Osprey in flight but did not succeed.
